Sir Gribaldi is another Secret son in the 2026 6yo WBFSH classes and gives us another perspective on which bloodlines are working to produce the best horses with Secret.
As has been mentioned before , all stallions have a throwback pattern which is working in their top progeny, and these patterns are remarkably consistent. (Clive Harper).
These horses are only 6 yos, and Secret is still fairly young as a sire – he has 27 PSG progeny so far. We can assume these 6 yos are amongst the best in the world and are on their way up the competition ladder, so the patterns are most likely similar to those in the PSG horses. That subject will be for a further study and cannot be examined in a snippet.
Pedigree – Secret / All Inclusive / Lauries Crusador / Weltmeyer / Wendekreis.
Looking at what is similar to the last example in Secrets Weapon, we have a repeat of Weltmeyer and Wendekreis. We have discussed the Weltmeyer affinities in the first post and we know that Wendekreis is one of the major lines that returns for Rotspon progeny, who is on the 4th generation in Secret.
This time the dam sire is Trakehner All Inclusive. Don Schufro in Secret is on the 4th generation, and on his dam line he has Trakehner sire Unkenruf. When studying some of the best progeny by Don Schufro, one of the major throwback patterns for him is mares that bring the same duplications of his own Trakehner blood through Unkenruf, and this occurs way too often for it to be a happy accident.
We are restricted here to 6 generation charts where this cannot be seen but the AllBreed Pedigree site will show the longer charts for members.
The common bloodlines that are reinforced between Unkenruf and All Inclusive are Pregel, Hirtensang, Gabriel, Abglanz, Absalon, Cancara and Pirol.
One connection here which is very technical, is that Sir Gribaldi has 6 duplications of Absatz, and the sire of Absatz is Abglanz, whose dam has several full siblings including Absalon in Don Schufro’s and All Inclusive’s pedigree. Trakehners are a closed studbook and their bloodlines weave in behind all these other ancestors forming a web of connecting dots which have a greater impact than very loosely bred horses.
So a dam with Trakehner blood will definitely tie in with the Don Schufro blood in Secret.
Trakenhers also made use of Thoroughbred sire Pindar xx who is a closely related brother to Pik As xx. Sir Gribaldi has seven duplications of Pindar in All Inclusive and Secret has Pik Bube I twice which brings in four duplications of Pik As, this results in 11 duplications of the Thoroughbred brothers Pindar and Pik As.
Another solid pedigree with interesting and informative ways to connect to the bloodlines in Secret.
